This infraction is worth 1 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.

All the best,
Social Anxiety Forum
I got an infraction for "Inappropriate Language" for the word "masturbation" which I find to be an inappropriate infraction. I did a quick search on the forums for the word and found 3 pages worth of threads with the word http://www.socialanxietysupport.com/forum/search.php?searchid=637375 :sus

If you see this as a personal attack on Ospi, which you don't, its not because its an infraction for inappropriate language. Ospi knows I was playing around with him.

Hahahaha, I got an infraction for pretty much the exact same thing, except the only thing I said in the post was "masturbate". When I made a thread like this "a" certain someone gave me another infraction for "personal attacks", which I found absurd. I was shortly thereafter banned when I made another thread about the whole ordeal. :roll

Good luck...

I am a bit annoyed by pointless infractions too.

I got an infraction for this pic:Link Removed

Dear Nameless,

You have received an infraction at Social Anxiety Forum.

Reason: Photos, Pictures and Avatars
-------
The Avatar is rather phallic and has been removed.

Photos, Pictures and Avatars
The posting of images containing graphic violence, pornography, or otherwise offensive or distressing material is not permitted. The posting of links to such images is not permitted. All photos, pictures or avatars involving a human being, male or female, must submit to the following guidelines. No nudity or see through clothing with nothing on underneath. Posting any pornographic photos will result in an immediate ban.
My avatar did not contain graphic violence or distressing material. Pornography...if that image caused sexual thoughts, then I guess I deserved my ban. Finally offensive, who exactly defines what's offensive? If one person find it offensive, then it should be taken down? In that case, there were a couple of posts made by a certain someone that quite a few people found VERY offensive, how come nothing was done then?

I have a t-shirt with the logo and wear it in public and no one had a problem with it, so why was it removed? What bothers me most is, if the mod just asked me I would have removed it. The most it should have gotten was a warning.

I am probably wasting my energy as this thread will probably be deleted and I wouldn't be surprised if I got another infraction/ban.

I'm with Nameless on this one. It's ridiculous. This site is great, but it's like 1939 all over again in a Nazi regime. I still can't believe I had an infraction for posting a picture of meghan fox in chat, and she wasn't even naked in the picture....this was a couple of months back tough.

Is the Washington monument inappropriate (too phallic)? Big long thing pointing upward, must be very inappropriate...

I want to mention something else, why is this site so against anti-authority? Once I made a group "for people who got infractions/temp ban" as a joke, it was deleted immediately. What exactly is the problem? We are not going to overthrow the mods/owners and create anarchy. Same thing with threads, when someone makes a thread questioning their infraction...they get another one or sometimes ban. A bit insane, don't you think?

With regards to the original poster, I am actually in agreement with the infraction simply because you used a slang term that meant masturbation. That's kind of vulgar - I don't think you'd hear Chinese people rambling that phrase out, so why would you use it here? Sex toys don't exactly qualify as useful for SA, either.

Look, we are trying to keep this place safe - we actually get complaints from people who happen to also be in the chat room - you don't know about those times. If you wouldn't use the language with family, why use it here? It's pointless.

What excuse? It's like using vulgar terms for body parts. In this case, it's a verb and not a noun. :stu

I don't come here to learn new cuss words - that's not culture, and it doesn't help with SA. :troll.

If you guys really have a problem with it, go to Drew. I don't even remember if I filed the infractions you guys received anyway.

Well, there have been ones that really were. How are we to know you guys aren't disguising?

I understand why you guys might feel these infractions are over the top.

However, there are two things to keep in mind.

One, an infraction is merely a way for us to keep track of users who have broken the guidelines. Yes, it can lead to a temporary ban if enough are accumulated, but in it of itself, it's just letting you and us know of a particular post or situation that overstepped the guidelines. Try not to take it personally.

Second, it seems that the real issue many of you have are with the guidelines themselves. You might get an infraction for something you personally don't see any problem with, so you make a thread in this forum to complain. The point is that the the guidelines on this site exist to keep SAS a place that is appropriate to the greater population. That may feel too constricting to you, and I understand how that could be frustrating, but the sooner you start to view SAS in that light the less we'll have threads like this popping up.
