I loathed Paxil. It made me feel like i wanted to upchuck when i did or didn't eat. Practically a constant basis, but besides that , it made me feel like i wasn't myself, suppressed emotions to the point where the happiness i was feeling felt forced and not natural. Also, the sexual sid effects were the worst, especially when you are just blooming into a relationship. Man, I must have burned 400 calories trying to climax lol I'm probably leaving something out, though i do have to admit that i was considerably more social and i did benefit from it for a while until the cons exceeded the pros.

You should definitely give other ones a try, Paxil has been known to be among the least favorites b/c of the sexual sideffects. Btw, don't invest so much into what other people say in those forums. Everyone really does work differently. I have heard 50/50 about so many meds that it just doesn't make any sense to judge by the ammount of complainers. defnitely try a new one if it effected your leg and tell your doctor that happened.

paxil has worse withdrawal than other SSRI's. paxil is more sedating than other SSRI's (therefore in theory it should work better for SA)

Paxil, for me, has caused weight gain, even with all of the running I do. I am definitely in shape (I try to run 5mi/8km four times a week). I can't seem to burn off the extra pounds no matter how hard I try :(. The sexual part doesn't make any difference right now....well, it doesn't! :roll :lol.

It sucks that SSRIs cause so many more problems than they fix; it's like the cure is worse than the disease. The sexual side effects are pretty much the killer for me. I've read a few horror stories about how the problems persisted even after stopping the medication.

Blah, I dunno. I was thinking of trying something else, but throwing another $40+ down the toilet doesn't seem that appealing.

I gave up Paxil this week too after a few days 'cause I became depressed like a guy the day after being dumped. And I've never been like that my whole life. But I feel that was working because now I'm back to "normal" but slightly better concerning my SA, OCD, etc...

I got the feeling that a short term(1 month or 2) trial with a SSRI I can handle could give great results... I think Zoloft was next on my doc. list.
