Do you guys find this a good combo?

My issue with it is that the benzos (clonazepam, alprazolam) seem to decrease my motivation and energy. It's like it counteracts MAOI's effectiveness. It also seemed to lessen ambien's effectiveness. I get brain zaps too!

With MAOIs I have horrible insomnia and getting to sleep is extremely difficult. Is this maybe a sign I'm on too high of a dosage of MAOI or a typical response? While on Parnate (20mg 7:30am and 20mg 3:30pm), I have to take Zolpidem (Ambien) or I'm unlikely to sleep well. The other typical sleep meds don't work. Now Zolpidem now only seems to work about 30% of the time. Half the time I can't even make it to bed to actually attempt to get to sleep.

I remember on occasion falling asleep while playing a computer game. I can be showing my brother a game and fall asleep. Anytime I'm sitting still, I'm likely to sleep. Housework and physical exercise is the only thing that keeps me awake.

MAOIs seem to be the only meds that give me a positive benefit and that mostly involves just being able to do housework and not procrastinate about every single task. GAD and SAD is still pretty bad, but I will go shopping if I have to.

I've tried many other meds and MAOIs are the only ones that have given me a real benefit. Lately, I still feel like I'm stuck in a rut, with no chance of any more progress. Maybe this is as good as it gets for me. I feel that I work hard, but want more than to be a housekeeper.

I try my best not to take benzos while on nardil because it seems to counteract the positive effects fro the nardil, so I only use the short acting drowsy anti-histamine type drugs for sleep. I took 1mg of valium last week and slept for 13 hours and didn't want to get out of bed for the rest of the day after that, just no desire or motivation. When not on nardil i'd never have even felt that little amount of valium.
