I wonder if anyone tried - or considers patently dim-witted - a stack tackling the GABA system with different mechanisms, that may be too weak or tolerance developing individually but could have synergistic, tolerance avoiding (?) effects in combination:
- GABA transaminase inhibition: Melissa officinalis (lemon balm), Phenelzine
- Upregulation of GABA production: L-Theanine
- Upregulation of GABA receptors: Bacopa Monnieri, Kava Kava, Fasoracetam, Tranylcypromine
- GABA enhancement/NMDA antagonist: Magnesium
If still too weak:
- Upregulation of GABA transport/production: Pregabalin, Gabapentin
- GABA agonist: Baclofen, Phenibut
- GABA enhancement: Benzodiazepine
Disclaimer: Since too much GABAergic neurotransmission can lead straight into the hospital or morgue, one should of course always start with sub-therapeutic doses and slowly dosing up (and after consulting one's doctor 0
