my main problem is im so self-conscious i cant be myself. Ive never taken any sa meds becuase i always thought they were for physical symptoms. Do they help with being less self-concscious and being able to talk without the racing thoughts in my head. I wondering if i should try to get treated for sa, does it actually help?

The correct answer is it depends and you will not know unless you try. They are all different, some more so than others. If you have tried talking to a psychologist and other ways of working through your self-consciousness and are not seeing improvement, you could consider medication(s). Finding a medication or combination can be a very long process.

Benzos are the only reason I can hold a job/have friends/go to school/leave the house. I choose one or two days each week where I don't take them to avoid dependence/upping the dosage, and those days pretty much consist of laying in bed on the internet all day. They're a good temporary solution if you know how to not become dependent, they're effective but very addictive.
