i should have just skipped this ceremony. i should have listen to my gut oh well :(
Graduation is often more important to the relatives of the graduate than the graduate. To them your walk across the stage is a memorable and proud moment. In celebration of that moment, it is only their applause that matters. Try not to see the lack of applause from strangers as some kind of evidence to determine whether people like you or not. That is not the meter stick you should use to measure your worth.

Just be proud of yourself that you did go! Often people are like that, they don't even have the decency to clap politely. That's their problem, it doesn't reflect badly on you. :)

No one clapped for me. I had no friends in school. No one cared if I was alive. After the ceremony were done I said goodbye to the classmates and rode away. I was so glad to be out of there. It was like being paroled from prison.

I'm not going to lie, you probably shouldn't have gone.

That being said, it's ****ing amazing that you did, and you should be extremely proud of yourself that you did. I did not go, and I never faced down that demon. I regret it to this day. You should be extremely proud of yourself for pushing through all the idiots, and to be honest I bet people were clapping for you in their hearts if not out loud. Great job man, keep it up.

I got delayed claps because the people at my high school were decent enough and I had a bunch of acquaintances.

But don't feel bad OP. It won't matter a year from now, just like prom. Try to be happy that high school is finally over. That place can be hell. :D Congrats on graduating!

off-topic: I thought you were much older. :sus

Today was my graduation and it sucked, i was at the very end, so i went up stage at nearly the end, and when they called my name is was dead silent. Not even one clap from anyone. It really hurt and i felt embarrassed and i could see people who did not like me, stare me down. Now i regret going to graduation, so pointless. The crowd was horrible, clapping for people they know and i was one of the people who when they called my name, the crowd was dead silent :( and i had no friends to take pictures with, a sad memory to leave with, i should have just skipped this ceremony. i should have listen to my gut oh well :(
Sorry to hear that. Screw them, they're not important.

I went through the same thing, I moved to a new school my senior year and I didn't really know anyone when it came time for graduation. Only people that clapped were my parents. I wouldn't worry to much about it. High school is such a small percent of your life, you'll forget all about it later. Its time for the fun stuff now!

At least you're done! It was a brave thing for you to go and now you can relax that it's over.

Also I feel graduations should save all applause til the end of reading the names instead of after each individual name. Fortunately my high school did this or else I would've only gotten a couple of claps from my family and that's it. My college did the clap after each name and I only got a few claps (and a screaming cousin which made me laugh on stage) compared to alot of people.

That's sucks. Whatever, its over with and at least you did it. I had my family clap. I don't remember if my friends did, but I didn't care about graduation. It was actually pretty surreal though. I was like, damn, im done with high school. I liked who I was in high school though. I didn't have a lot of worries at the time, so im grateful for that.

Fortunately, I didn't attend my highschool graduation so I didn't go through that awful moment. Just try to forget about it and concentrate on the positive side: You finished school, which means you don't have to go back to that damn place anymore.

People weren't allowed to clap at my graduation. When the students names were called, their family was supposed to stand up and that was it. They said they did that because it got really loud in there, and the parents of the next student wouldn't be able to hear their kids name being called. Which I totally agree with. They could clap at the very end of course when all of the students were done walking across the stage. I'm glad I went to my graduation though. Graduating from high school is a once in a life time thing, and I really didn't want to miss it.
