Anyone else scared of spiders? :afr The other day I was soaking my blinds and this big, black spider fell out of the top crevice part. I just was so freaked out. Maybe it's a mild phobia.

I hate spiders! I can't even squish them. I tried to kill a spider that was on my ceiling once and it jumped on me. Well...it probably just fell, but in my mind it jumped on me. If there is a spider in my room at night and nobody around to kill it for me I can't even sleep in my room. :afr

Oh me! This may end up being a really bad story but anyway I work at a health club and I was leaving a message with this person who wanted a massage (so I was kind of trying to sound slightly professional, right?) Well anyway, just as I'm about to leave a message- get to the beep- my coworker comes up and is like "is that your bag?" (on the floor) I'm like yes... why? Well turns out there's this HUGE HUGE HUGE black spider on it, crawling inside, right by me, I'm totally freaking out. Anyway the message sounded something like this:

"Hello Mrs. Smith, This is Meg from the health club place AHHHHHH I'm sorry, I'm calling about your OH MY GOD GET IT AWAY FROM ME ummm about your massage appt NO, BRIAN COME KILL THIS SPIDER!!!!! it's schedlued for friday NO DON'T KILL IT POOR THING TAKE IT OUTSIDE at 4:30 we hope to see you then, sorry about this message.... there was a spider."

Haha that probably definitely doesn't make any sense but yea, I'm surprised I wasn't fired. But yes. spiders are scary. So are things that fly (such as butterflies) they just have such an advantage over us, you know?

Yesterday I went to the basement and tried changing my kitty's litter box (for the first time ever. I told my dad I'd be more responsible.) So I snapped the lid off and started scooping and thought there was this little piece of poop rolling towards me but it was a freakin spider running right at me. I got the hell out of there. My dad's back to doing the litter box.

I love spiders. And every other insect. I love watching them working on their webs. Those webs are so beautiful. Of course anytime a spider appears in my house someone kills it. :( But if I can get to it first I take it outside and release it. I think spiders are just so cool. I feel like a toddler though. Being so fascinated with insects.

Spiders don't bother me, unless they're crawling on me. In that case, I just brush them off, trying not to kill them in the process. I don't even mind them in the house... they eat insects and are very beneficial.

My son has learned to fear them (along with insects and snakes) from his daycare provider, unfortunately. He sees one in the house and goes "kill it! kill it!" :(

My mother fears spiders, so I feared them as a child. I'm not afraid of them now that I'm older, but I don't like them. My mom still screams when she sees one. The only insect that I can't stand to be around are roaches. I'm not afraid of them; I simply see them as disgusting and disease infested creatures.

I can relate Drella because my mom has arachnophobia and will get really panicked when near a spider. I had fun with this once when i put a huge rubber spider on her pillowcase along time ago.. Anyway, spiders don't scare me so much, only if they sneak up on me on surprise. I know daddy long legs don't really count as spiders, those freak me out, along with roaches, silverfish, wasps, horseflies and dragonflies, and big ants.

I'm not really afraid of spiders as long as they don't get on me.
Last sunday at work I found this (relatively) big spider, about 2 inch long, the fangs on it were about 3-4 mm long. It's back end seemed huge, but that was only because it was covered in tiny baby spiders. An interesting sight...
So it got put in a box and I left it on the store manager's desk. :lol

I hate spiders! They always show up in the worst place, at the worst time.

One night i came home late and i saw a huge spider in my room. I tried to catch it but it ran behind my bed and disappeared. There was no way in hell i could fall asleep knowing that thing was lurking in my room, just waiting until i fell asleep...so it could crawl all over my face and lay its eggs up my nose or something. I had to sleep on the couch for 3 days straight.

Another time a spider seriously freaked the shit out of me. I had a bong hidden in my basement right. One night i was home alone so i decided to pull it out and fire that bad boy up. I took a big pull and a spider flew out of the shaft right into my MOUTH!!! I spat that thing out sooo fast...i couldn't even believe what just happened. Usually I don't like to kill insects but that ***** had to pay.

Yep, the thought of squishing one grosses me out. I have to get a parent to get it. I don't know what I'll do when I'm living on my own. Probably drown them to death because there's no way I'm going to touch them.

Spiders feature on my list of 'The things i hate about summer'. They are awful here in the summer months. I have actually been paralysed with fear of them - walking under a covering shelter out the backyard i made the mistake of looking up and saw that the roof was practically covered with them :afr . I had a huge one crawling on my lap once. I must have been aware of it on some level because i looked down at my lap for no apparent reason and there it was. The following night i had a nightmare about them.

I used to be scared of them. One day i did a search on google about the spiders we have here and learned a lot about the different kinds and their behavior. I mostly wanted to know if they're going to poison me to death or bite me harder than the neighbor's dog. It's funny, but i'm not so scared of them now that i learned about them. I can even catch them(after trying to identify what kind it is) and put them outside instead of stomping them with my foot out of fear.
They still give me shivers sometime though :afr

Edit: The ones we have here aren't really poisonous(well, some are, but most aren't a threat to humans) so it's probably why i'm not so scared of them. If i lived in a country with nasty poisonous ones, then id be scared to death of them for sure :afr

I really detest spiders also, there are quiet a few different species of spiders in my neck of the woods wolf-spiders, dandy longlegs, black widows, and even scorpions(living close to the only desert in Canada), but it is fun watching them spin up a web(yes that was a hobby of mine when I was a child) but for some reason I don't like them as much now, especially the black widows, one crawled up my leg once when I was helping my dad garden outside, i went into fight - flight mode :um

My friend's husband got biten by a black widow that was hiding in the mailbox and he almost died from the poison. It made his arm go numb and then he was having trouble breathing and chest pain. Before they got him to the hospital he had passed out and stopped breathing. Once they shot him up with the antivenom he was okay but stayed sick for about a week. He says the finger where the spider bit him still goes numb sometimes. I hate spiders and snakes and centipedes and millipedes.

I've never seen giant spiders like that around here. Just rather small ones. But centipedes, oh those bastages are ginormous and make me run screaming from a room. And it's my room they love to go in. There's nothing like reading a book, looking up from it, and seeing one of those things on the wall. :afr
