Sleeping Pills

I only very rarely use sleeping pills. I basically only use them if I want to "reset my clock," such as if I'll be getting up much earlier than normal and need to go to bed early.

If it were me, I'd just put up with some sleepless nights instead of using them regularly. Is cold turkey too intimidating?

Thanks for all your comments.
sparkations, I have tried herbal remedies and have always managed to get to sleep eventually with them, but then I'd wake up over and over.

I've only got another 5 days of Zopiclone left anyway, I'll just have to go cold turkey and deal with it. I think part of my problem is knowing that I have the pills and could take them if I wanted. If I don't have them then I just have to deal.
If you have the time/inclination, exercise vigorously earlier in the day (not evening). Basically anything that will wear you out physically. Avoiding stimulants is a plus, but you probably know that one.

Hi again, it's been a couple of months since I wrote this post and I'd like to share with you my success in getting off the sleeping pills.

I started taking only half a tab in the evening along with a herbal concoction called Tranquelite. I did this for about a week. Then my sleeping pills ran out and I didn't have another prescription for them (good call Doc). So my anxiety didn't get in the way because there were no sleeping pills available for me to obsess about. The Tranquelite took the place of the pills and since my body was now used to feeling sleepy at a certain time every night, I went straight to sleep at that time.

Eventually I stopped taking the Tranquelite and now I sleep very well all night. This is the first time in a year that I've been able to do this!
Did anyone read this? :lol

Great job!
