This is just something that came to me this morning while I was sitting in my office, looking out the window.

Who is that man
Sitting in his room
White walls
White trim
Radioactive energy
Heat from the factory
Books of soulless instruction
Maps to nowhere

Who is that man
Looking out the window
Suburban street of beige and greed
Minivans, lawnmowers, and nine to five

Who is that man
Wondering what could have been
If he had turned left instead of right
If he had followed the light

Who is that man
Dreaming of peace and erotic fantacies
Of women who passed him by for someone else
He watches a young woman jog through the park
Her breasts so soft and legs so sweet

Who is that man
His life glaring at him
He looks at the eclipse
Through unprotected eyes
Bludgeoned by a two-by-four
Unknowingly by a cartoon character
Oblivious
Turning to construct

Who is that man
Lying face down in the mud
Head pounding
Eyes burning
Ears ringing
A boot from the past kicks him in the ribs
He grunts and buckles
Twisted in agony

Who is that man
Whose life is an out of tune guitar
Never sounding right
Out of step
Out of time

Who is that man
Sitting in his room
Wondering what to do

Very folk art-ish. Sorta reminds me of Bob Dylan.
Hmmm... That's probably from some of the music I play... Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, The Band... that kind of stuff.
