Pretty cool movie! I happened to see some stuff online over the past few months about it -- mostly "conservatives" crying about how "woke" it is. And while I don't have anything against homosexuality, interracial relationships or eco-friendly stuff... All put together, it DID seem a bit on-the-nose. Still, the premise was amusing if not entirely original. And the characters were cool. I'll probably watch it again sometime.
EDIT: Holy crap! A brief Google search has my jaw dropping -- it looks like there's a whole storm of controversy over this film! I mean I refuse to look at any entertainment "news" these days because so much of it is just butthurt, entitled people who didn't get what they wanted or expected. All of the "review bombing" is really sad though. So many of the one-star reviews focus entirely on the "woke" elements I mentioned above. Like wow... Sometimes I feel like Society is making real progress with tolerance and acceptance. And then something stupid like this comes along and ruins my faith in humanity yet again. Man... this really upsets me.

That would be a movie worth watching if it had Airwolf, Firefox and F-14 Tomcats all in it!Oof, how sad, as I watched that gif, I had the Airwolf theme playing in my head, now that's really mashing things up. 😂

I've never read the book but apparently it's fairly faithful to it. I just had no idea what they were on about and thought it was pretty silly. Probably should check it out if you like that sort of thing.
Good to hear your differing views on it - do enjoy a good sci fi epic, so will try and get around to watching it this weekend.I didn't have high expectations before watching it, but I really enjoyed it and it's a visual feast.

Solid sequel to the original - brings back all of the major cast members from the previous movie, which enhances it a lot. Jessica Rothe is clearly the standout from both movies. It's largely more of the same but off-tangent enough to make it interesting and entertaining.

Alien Raiders (free movie on Youtube) - 7/10
The plot is just slightly muddled and the creatures are kind of unrealistic but otherwise, really solid.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - I haven't finished it yet but so far I'm really hating this movie with a passion. It probably doesn't help a lot that I am not really a fan of Jim Carey. I'll have to edit this post if I actually finish this movie.
EDIT - Oh yeah. I hated this. I mean, I guess it was well made, for whatever that's worth. I just despised every minute of it. 3/10

Yeah. I don't know. Maybe it's a culture thing or something. Some movies just annoy me and I don't know why. Alien Raiders wasn't supposed to be amazing so my expectations were pretty low. It was better than I expected. People have raved about Eternal Sunshine so my expectations were much higher. It was much worse than I expected for such a highly regarded and rated movie.
EDIT - That said, I probably wouldn't watch either of them again.

I didn't expect to like it because I hated Predator 2. There were some really soft spots but considering how absolutely terrible most sequels are, props to any sequel that can hold a candle to the original. Laurence Fishburne's character was completely unnecessary and could have trimmed quite a bit of unnecessary time out to make it a tighter movie. It was really a waste of his talents as well.

I love that movie. What aspects of it did you not like?
All of them. I guess in a way, I had trouble relating to any of the characters since they all seemed unrealistic. I don't know anyone who acts like that.noooo

Oh yeah. First one is way better.I guess I feel that while Predator 2 isn't great, it isn't awful either. And while Predators might be a little better, but the only really good one was the first.
I just thought it was nice they paid lots of homage to the original and didn't try to completely reinvent the wheel the way they do with so many sequels. I especially hate when they try to mix things like AVP. Who thought that was a good idea? Like were they intentionally trolling the fans or what?

My sister gave me the DVD cause she got some free movies from someone.
It wasn't great but entertaining enough. I liked the story arc of Maleficent. From bad to good. Think that's what made the movie. I think they should make more movies with classic Disney villains like this but that might be an unpopular opinion.
And I liked the fairies. 😂...I always wanted to see the movie and now that I watched it, I'm willing to see the second one.
