A genetically inferior man assumes the identity of a superior one in order to pursue his lifelong dream of space travel.

I think a lot of people here will like it, especially the ones who think that they're being held back by a genetic predisposition contributing to their problems. The movie is set in a future where eugenics is the norm and the babies born naturally are societies rejects and second-class citizens who are only allowed to work the sh*ttiest jobs. This guy has a lot of health problems but he goes to great lengths to commit fraud and pretend he's genetically superior in order to train as an astronaut.

Both films are about terminally ill people, they make you appreciate life.

The Elephant Man
Many of John Wayne's films inspire me too
