I have social anxiety disorder and am in my third year of college. Whenever I feel edgy or anxious, I usually munch on a snack before reaching for the Xanax. I have noticed that my weight has been steadily creeping up over the past couple years.

Anyone else have problems with weight gain/loss related to SAD?

Thanks - Sunshine :sas

in my 1st year of residence I gained 9lbs (which is pretty low compared to other first-year horror stories) from the food and the snacks in the cafeteria plus the excessive amounts of beer. Luckily I lost 'em during the rest of my years. Then in my final year I started feeling out of shape again due to all the sodapop I was drinking while I was doing one "all-nighter" after another after another every week. I went through 24 cans every ten days or so. All the pressure was making me stay up all night and keep doing my work.

I don't have any advice other than reduce your calories: drink water and snack on rice cakes :)
