I agree, blc1. It's crazy. It's almost as if we're going backwards. If Katherine Hepburn had been born in the 1960s rather than 1907, I wonder if she would have got the chance to continue acting for as long as she did. She was 74 when she made "On Golden Pond". But would a film like that even be made today? You'd think that the feminist movement of the 1960s would have encouraged people to assess women on the basis of more substantial things than youth and looks, but it's almost as if they're valued more for their youth and looks now than before.
Yeah it sure seems that way. I'm glad Katharine Hepburn got the chance though. She was Fantastic & On Golden Pond too..
