I haven't and I never intend to.

After all these years on SAS this was the only question I could think of that had not previously been asked in our voting booth.

I checked Amazon and the paperback version is 1,296 pages and weighs just a bit under 3 pounds.

I feel like I ought to read it. Is there a good translation? I tried reading a couple of Russian classics in rather painful translations, and it kind of put me off. Mind you, one of them was Solzhenitsyn's Cancer Ward, I'm sure that's pretty depressing in any language...

I plan on reading it. I read Anna Karenina last fall. I hear War and Peace is supposed to be better. I've actually downloaded it from Project Gutenberg, but I have too many actual books to read, before I get to the e-books.

Have a nice day,
Kelly :)

I'll probably read it over the summer. I've got the Pevear and Volokhonsky translation on my bookshelf just waiting to be read.

I've tried novels like that before, but never got much out of them. Like Anna Karenina. Didn't the guy fall in love with some girl, and ended up marrying her? That just made me jealous. Love is supposed to be unrequited! :rain

I know, I get jealous really easily. :roll

Well, considering how well that all worked out, you probably have no reason to be jealous. ;)

Have a nice day,

"Did you know that the original title for War and Peace was War, What Is It Good For?" but his wife urged to him to change the name:)
