I know there's fellow firearm enthusiasts on these boards so I wanted to make aware of, if not already, Assembly Bill 962 (AB962) and Senate Bill 585 (SB585), basically a couple rockets the usual suspects fired at us which we're now trying to destroy. As of October 7th we have exactly 3 days to flood Gov. Schwarzenegger's office with emails and phone calls respectfully urging the Governor to veto these 2 pieces of garbage legislation, this is a dire threat to our Second Amendment rights here in the Golden State.

>AB962
-Outlaws all online pistol ammunition sales to California.
-Requires all California gun sales to only be through an in-person, state-trained employee.
-Incorporates a new database system for mandatory firearm registration upon purchase, as well as a slew of new firearm purchasing procedures from finger printing as well as registering how much of what caliber ammunition you purchase and on what date.
-Require ammunition retailers to store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to customers.

>SB585
-This bill would prohibit the sale of firearms and ammunition on the property or inside the buildings that comprise the Cow Palace in Daly City, just outside of San Francisco. Simply put, SB585 is a stepping-stone to banning gun shows on all publicly-owned property in California.

Make no mistake, these bills are NOT for the betterment of public safety in any way, shape, or form no matter what they tell you. They will have tremendous, unintentional consequences for not only us but our law enforcement brethren as well from ammunition's rapidly rising financial expense and overall difficulty to obtain (even more than it is now) - they buy their ammunition through the exact same sources as we do, and AB962 may also very well provide a database that criminals could use to steal firearms from the residences of their owners. AB962 and SB585 are people control bills, NOT ammunition bills. These bills are just another attempt at being one step closer to our complete disarmament.

Even if you don't live in California or even the United States, feel free to still call or email him and let him know his actions are being watched the world over. Again, this is a time-critical issue and whether its via a phone call or email, sound professional, be polite, and be respectful! Lets burn these down hard, thanks.

I knew about this last week even though I'm nowhere near CA.

Those who wish to stay up to date on such issues should join the mailing lists for the NRA-ILA and GOA.
