Hi,
Have either of you guys tried taking a n-acetylcysteine supplemant?
I read recently that it supposed to really curve the need to pull out hair.

Do you have any experience with it, or know of anyone that does?

Thanks!
;)

Do you have any other information on this supplement? I've actually never heard of this before, and I'm a supplement junkie, lulz
Hi Sublimit,
I only read about it in the news last month... here is the link to the BBC article:

Don't know what stores you have where you live but here is the link to the supplement @ Holland & Barrett:

hope that helps. I don't know much about it... but it seems like the research is pretty new. Just wondered if anyone have tried it already.

;)

Hmm, no, never heard of it. I will pass it on to a few people I know who might be interested. Doesn't seem like there would be any harm if it's just an amino acid pill.

I pick at my cuticles all the time, and ive done its since i was a kid. The only way I don't do it is when i have fake nails on, so i try to wear them most of the time. I asked my physician about it a while back and he said its due to extreme anxiety, go figure. Ive been doing this since i was like 9. I know a lot of women that do it and can only stop with nails on. its wierd because i don't know where i channel that anxiety to when i have fake nails on but yet without them i pick and pick. wikepedia has a page for it but i cannot remember the name. this and eyelash picking and hair pulling are all forms of self mutilation.
