I've been freaking out somewhat ever since I read that Swine Flu is now officially at pandemic status. I'm not as terrified that I'll get it as I am scared that someone I care about might come down with it...I've been told that I shouldn't be so worried, but I can't help it.
Is anyone else worrying a lot about this?

13,217 cases, 27 deaths

Unless the people you're worried about have an extremely compromised immune system, there's minimal danger. If you weren't worried about the regular flu, you shouldn't be worrying about swine flu.

Additionally:
Cases in Virginia: 55

While I guess it's possible, it's extremely unlikely that anyone you know has caught it.

I worry about it a little.- The 1918 flu was very mild in the Spring but rebounded in the Fall and became deadly.- It's been so long since the U.S. has dealt with anything like this- there are'nt many around who remember how terrible the polio epidemic was. I think we in the U.S. tend to feel somewhat indestructible. Thank goodness the CDC is working on a vaccine.
