What are some of things you like to do when you're stressed or feeling overwhelmed that help you relax? It could be a hobby or activity or a place you like to go. Or it could be hanging around certain people. Whatever works for you.

I do like to do aerobic exercise, mostly running, to keep myself halfway sane but I haven't had as much time for it this summer and I still have a lingering cold that has shut me down of late. I've been able to keep up some non-aerobic physical activity but I may go bonkers if I don't get out for something more soon. I should go explore somewhere this weekend.

I usually go to sleep or lay on the floor somewhere dark for a while, like in my wardrobe. If it's bad enough, I put a blanket over my head because it helps my breathing get better.

If it isn't bad, listening to music and knitting help, and so does holding one of my dogs like a baby.

Anything that requires some attention to detail. Like right now, I am doing a bit of scripting for Morrowind, so I've got to filter through a bunch of different objects, change a few parameters for one item, create another, and create a simple script, then run it in game to make sure it works. It has been a while since I have touched Morrowind, so there is going to be a lot of things I will need to relearn.

I did the jogging earlier today, it doesn't really decompress me because I'm a complete newb at it and am really out of shape. For now it is 3:30 of walking 1:30 of jogging, repeated for half an hour. I'm hoping to build it up 15 seconds a week, until I can actually jog at a pace of 5mph for the full half hour. As is, it is mostly me huffing and puffing for a bit, hopefully I'll eventually start to enjoy it. I'm doing it on a treadmill, so the only thing I am seeing is my TV, I've been watching a lot of Futurama while attempting to jog.

I used to love riding my bike all around, but it has been a while since I have done that. I don't like being too far away from my house, in the event that an emergency occurs and I am needed - it really sucks :( I miss having the freedom of just leaving the house whenever I felt like it.

Also, a bit of drinking does wonders :) I'll probably have a few drinks tonight.

I have a really tough time justifying non-productive activities so when I need to decompress I turn to less demanding and urgent aspects of work, like social networking, market research, or researching subjects that are less relevant to my current project. I'm quite the party animal.

This brings back many happy memories of Oblivion/Fallout3/Skyrim modding.

I often just lie on my bed and watch a movie or TV. Or I'll listen to some music on Youtube or just have a look at some general book stuff online. That usually relaxes me.

Hitting the gym, walking on my slack line, walking my german shepherd or playing video games. Recently I’ve just started Kingdom Hearts 2 and wow it’s been a great help, the story is so good I become too immersed in it to care about real world problems. Honorary mention: Smash Bros since I own with Mario and it feels good beating on the competitors lol

The gym also works well for me when I need to just decompress. I put on my headphones and just move some iron. Certain computer games do the trick too. But only the ones that I've played for years and can do on "autopilot" so to speak. Like World of Warcraft for example.

I take a huge breath and let go of all the negativity in my mind. That helps. And if i have some drugs then i'll do those lol. Other notable mentions include porn, video games, music, tv, movies, etc. Just anything really. If you're feeling bad then dont focus on trying to get rid of the stress, focus on trying to replace your stressed state of mind with an entertained/amused one. Life has so much beauty if you can just decide to not feel stressed about things. Which is possible believe it or not lol.
