So, I just saw The Hurt Locker (upcoming Iraqi war movie). Very fun film. Kind of... Black Hawk Down meets Blown Away, if you will.

It occurred to me that I haven't really heard of any other good movies about the current Iraq war. Maybe I just live under a rock.

Can anyone recommend other movies like this? Relatively non-political, good old fashioned war movies, set in Iraq... none of this Home of the Brave crap.

The problem w/ Iraq movies is that they tend to be really political. Black Hawk Down had the advantage of being 10 or so years after the fact.

But I've seen very, very few good movies about the subject, from either the pro-war or the anti-war perspective.

You've got an excellent point there - it seems to take at least ten years before decent movies start coming out about any war. Saving Private Ryan... 53 years. Platoon... 11 years or so. Full Metal Jacket... 12. Jarhead... 14. The list goes on.
