I cried at the gas station today cause I lost my work badge a second time. Now, I have to pay 10 dollars for another one. I bet I lost it at the damn laundromat. I have a lot to lose and don't want to get fired. It costs to lose stuff and I'm tired of this. 😠
If the badge is some sort of card I'd get a lanyard for it. And I'd keep it on your person until you get home. Regardless, where ever you leave your car keys at home, that's where it goes also.

It's got some kind of button thing it's attached to that stretches out when I scan my card but that clearly isn't enough for me. The best I can do is just try my best to keep up with it and get a lanyard for it. I can't even trust myself not to lose stuff. I remember taking my earphones out of the console and left it open but I locked my car. Not like anyone would steal it anyways but I'm just saying I locked my car with the console open and that might be why happened. I bet pulling put my earphones caused the badge to fall out somewhere. Never again am I putting earphones in there. Those aren't near as important.

I'm definitely leaving it in my car either way. It is super frustrating for me to lose stuff. I had a meltdown cause they take this seriously. It's still bothering me right now and I'm trying not to let it. It's hard.

You would think nobody would want it, but you'd be amazed at the pointless crap some people will steal. I any case, I would keep it out of sight in your car just to be on the safe side.

Just had my first incident of the year where I forgot to turn down the space heater before I turned on the microwave. Tripped the breaker. I really wish I could get my PC on a UPS but I just can't justify the price for something that has a SLA battery in it that will need to be replaced every 3 years at $30 a pop. Not only that but most of the cheaper units have garbage square wave inverters in them that might do more damage to your PC than just letting it shut down and restarting it.

I have a large high wattage microwave, and I'm surprised that I don't really have any issues like that with it. Well, apart from it tripping a test/reset button on one of my outlets in the kitchen.

Was looking forward to going to church this morning but now I can smell gas!

So they're sending over a gas technician in an hour or so. I need to stay home. I recently had my boiler serviced and I wonder if the chap put it back together properly? It reeks of gas whenever I turn the boiler on now. Plus my gas meter has gone down to 0 credit even though I wasn't using it. Very suspicious.

So if you never see me posting here again, assume I got exploded in a tragic accident lol

E: Yeah it was a gas leak, so I'll have to shower at my parents for the next few days until it gets fixed. Still, could have been worse.

Wow. That's scary! I bought a gas detector off Amazon for this exact problem. Though it's pretty much the cheapest one they make and is not foolproof. For example, if you hold the sensor above an open drain, it will go off. If you breathe on it, it will go off. I guess it pretty much detects all gases except maybe oxygen. Or heck, maybe it detects oxygen too because the siren is on full before you dial it down.

Anyway, we had a water heater installed once a few years back. As usual, my mother waited until the old one was completely dead and borked in every possible way before she decided to find someone to come and replace it. So we were strapped for time and kind of didn't know who to call (but we knew the ghostbusters wouldn't help).

Anyway, the guys we ended up calling were apparently the worst people around. They got it installed but they almost flooded our condo and after they left, I kept noticing a gassy smell in the general area of the water heater. Eventually, we called the utility people out and the man confirmed that there was a very loose connection going from the water heater to the furnace. It's pretty sad that people who work with gas appliances for a living would be so careless.

Thanks, it was a bit scary. Apparently the boiler guy might have damaged the test valve on the flue when he was screwing the cap back in. So gas has been leaking into my flat, particularly when I turn the boiler on to shower, but also in small quantities when the boiler was off.

My landlord is sending the exact same boiler guy around again to repair it. I hope he does a better job this time lol :ROFLMAO:

That's scary what happened with that company you used. Not only did they nearly flood you out of house and home but there was a loose gas connection going to the furnace. That's just scary. I'm glad you noticed the loose connection and were all okay. The guy who fixed my boiler last week had some stories about what happens when it does go wrong. Which he was telling me whilst ironically breaking my boiler so that it caused a dangerous gas leak lol.

I didn't know you could buy gas detectors, that's good to know. The chap they sent round to deal with the emergency had a gas detector, I didn't know you could get them. Maybe something for me to consider in future.

What's unfortunate about it is I guess it's a fairly inexact thing. It's probably best always to call the gas company if you smell gas and haven't been eating beans.

The weather decides not to be windy on the day I have to leave. 🤣 So, I decided to go to the beach for awhile.

I think I stayed on the beach for like 2 and a half hours altogether, which is kind of funny cause that's how long it took me to get here.

Well, I got to do other stuff I wanted to do and ate shrimp and grits. Got to do some walking like I wanted. I'm getting this motel again for sure. Everything I want or need is right near the motel, so it's super convenient.

Some guy gave me a CD with rap music on it and asked for money. I said how much do you want me to give and he said at least 10 dollars. I just told him I had a dollar then asked if he wanted the CD back. 😬 He just told me to keep it. Lol I honestly wasn't going to pay 10 dollars for it.

So my mother doesn't want my dad emptying the vacuum cleaner. WTF? She's afraid of the dust. This is the same woman who literally pours 91% rubbing alcohol on her bananas and then peels them and eats them. Now I'm not an expert in anything and I have no idea if alcohol can go through a banana peel in less than five minutes but that seems like a bad idea to me. Especially when she is constantly exposing herself to rubbing alcohol on a daily basis by pouring it on her hands and so forth. That's probably half of why she's off her rocker. She's probably destroyed half her brain cells with alcohol poisoning. I don't know if it can go through a banana peel but I do know it soaks through your pores and gets absorbed into your body if you pour it on your skin like that.

It's about two and a half years since I was sectioned under the mental health act. It was a low point for me but I recovered and got my life back, thankfully.

Anyway I now have a job working in exactly the same hospital. Every day I leave the building directly under the window of the room where I was detained. I also walk past the entrance on my way in. It's funny how that worked out.

Congrats on getting your life back.

Kinda something similar for me I drive by the prison I spent a year in on my way to and from work every day. Was one of my lowest points in my life too. Puts things in perspective when I've had a bad day or feeling down about something. Could be a lot worse.

I saw a video of someone doing hand lettering with a glass pen that changed colour whenever she lifted it from the paper, and I tried Googling it to find out where I could get one from because it looked fun. I just watched it again and realised that it was being dipped into different inks when it wasn’t on the paper and that it wasn’t some sort of magical pen that changed colour on its own. :)
