I was curious to know how many people here have tattoos. I am definitely planning on getting one or two in the future.

If so, what is it of? Where? Does it cause trouble for you at all?

Would also like to hear from others who'd like to get one.

Consider this: aging process and regret.
Just think that in 60 years nursing homes will be filled with little old ladies that all have "tramp stamps".

Probably not an imagine you want to imagine.

I have 2 tattoos. One on my upper left arm, from the shoulder to elbow. It's a tribal type design. The second on my lower left arm.
No trouble what so ever.
They are hardly ever seen by the general public. The reason being,I don't like showing my bare naked arms.
There is nothing wrong with my arms, pre or post tattoo.I have a thing about people looking at my arms.I think people are constantly starring at them, because I'm a Weirdo.

I have like 10. I say that because some of them are seperate but apart of the same tattoo. If I was to count them all individually it would be 15.

They haven't caused any trouble at all. Though I'm curious as to what you mean by that? Like with jobs or what?

My favorites are an elephat holding an umbrella with rain coming down. In the background is the Sun rising and its filled in with red/yellow rays of light. To me it means that no matter how bad things get that there will always be something better to come along. The elephant was because they never forget so it was just good symbolism.

I have the words 'Think Say Do' going around my arm in a band. Signifies the progression of everythig in life. It's all just a never ending cycle.

I have the number 11:11 with the words Faith and Hope underneath them. 11:11 is the time you make a wish and faith and hope are what dreams are made of. Right next to are the words 'The first star you see may not be a star' with 3 stars surrounding it. It just means that though you can wish, sometimes the thing you wish for is not what you really thought it would be.

I have a breaking heart around the word Saosin which is a chinese proverb that basically means 'Love with caution'. I got the word in the broken heart to remind myself that as long as you don't put yourself completely out there then you can never have your heart broken. I got that after my first break up with a girl who I dated for a year and a half. I don't regret it though because it's just a memento for a certain special period in my life.

Uh, I have the phrase 'Non Sum Qualis Eram' on the backside of my forearm. It means 'I'm not what I once was' in latin. We're constantly changing as people so I don't see that one going out of style.

The next one I get is going to be on my fingers, running vertically along the five fingers. Gonna get the words 'There are worse things than being alone' which is a quote from my favorite author Charles Bukowski. Ain't that the truth.

i love my tattoos, they never caused me in trouble before.

i have an elephant on the back of my neck, i got it after my friend died. It was my first tat and my favorite. i also have two birds on my left ankle with twinkly stars all around them. inspired by blackbird by the beatles.

Im working on a mermaid i want on my left side, that will most likley be my next tattoo, but im not really happy with my drawings yet.

Does anything look good at the end of the aging process?

Nah, I wouldn't get a tramp stamp. Or a ho handle. I would either get them on my upper arms, shoulder or back of the neck. I'd love to get one on my wrist if it weren't for concealment issues.

Yeah, I meant jobs primarily. Also with things like healing right or people's opinions.

Well, I tried to go into the Air Force and they would't let me in because of them. I only had like 4 or 5 at that point too. But it wasn't a big deal because I just went next door to the Army and they let me sign up lol.

Other than that they haven't. I just wear long sleeve shirts to an interview (lol only 2) so they can't see them. Once they hire you they can't just fire you for having visible tattoos. But even after they hired me and saw them they never said anything negative. In general it's alot of good responses and people really liking them. I suppose if you get a really bad tattoo then it might cause some negative opinions to be brought on. I don't really care what other people think about them though.

I'd like to get tattoos but I'm not sure where I'd put them or what I'd get. I was thinking about getting a clover leaf on my back between my shoulders with these words inside it: "far is solace in the maddening pace, sad state written on my face. Not a tightrope walk but dance, uncertain game of chance- but I'll see it through in time." I'd also be afraid that the artist would **** up and I'd have a permanent **** up on my body. Also I just don't know if there is a point since basically no one would ever see it anyway and I might look kinda stupid with tattoos anyway.

Tattoos are just too played out. Gone are the days of true rebellious youth and in are the days of trendy fashionistas and in-crowders. Nowadays the yuppiest of yuppies and their friggin' mommies got 'em! Stand in line, get your mark, and join the rest of the flock y'all.
