Talk About Your Interests As Much As You Want

This thread is for posting as much as you want about your interest without worrying that it will annoy anyone or make them bored. You can teach everyone about it as well as learn things about other people's interests or hobbies. :)

My most prized hobby is to stalk and prey on unsuspecting lego people at the dark grim noir of the night. I kidnap them, humiliate them and then cut off their heads and bury them in a clear hard plastic tray in my yard. With their heads faced up beneath the buried dirt towards my window to make myself feel a sense of dominance. Like they're looking up to me.

I was telling my sister the other day that I think I must be a member of one of the most obscure Facebook groups in existence. People post pictures of beautiful endpapers in old books and we comment on them.

It's emotional.

Its probably a very common hobby but... I love music.

I love the feel when a song I couldn't play before suddenly becomes easier to play after months of practise. I love learning about music theory, even if it can be frustrating at the age of 29 trying to learn about music what most musicians probably learnt in grade school.

I love drawing...though I haven't practised in a while.

I also love model building fictional robots from gundam, power rangers transformers.....i live that hobby vicariously through youtube. Its way too expensive to do in real life.

I wish I had enough money to buy lego to post my lego ideas.

I wish there was some computer program that let you make lego models

Paulownia Tomentosa or Empress Tree seeds that I picked up in the park. I soaked some of the seeds in water and some grew little tails aka began to sprout. Here they are 🌱😀 They'll be 20feet in no time lol

I started growing lots of potential bonsai trees last may. I got 24 Silk Tree Mimosas grow out of the seeds I purchased. These are some today...

These are all the same but the last one, the one in the plastic food pot, is the only one that is flowering. All the rest are in terracotta pots and have no signs of flowers 🌸 I actually prefer the non flowering ones. When I started out I was in love with all flowering ones haha

I can’t decide if I should play these pieces with or without a pick, both have advantages & disadvantages, same time, I suspect many non musicians wouldn’t really notice unless it was pointed out.

Also, Chris Cornell was an amazing vocalist, unbelievable power & range

ah you've got to give me tips on getting through that hump!
I usually don't look forward to my birthday anymore but this year I asked for a BMX bike. It's been fun challenging myself in small ways, I have very little going for me in life and maybe this has helped a bit?

I got a new appreciation for BMX and cycling in general watching videos this summer, but I honestly decided to focus on this instead of skateboarding because I'll always feel more comfortable on a bike and be able to ride and do more things, even if that's a bit of a superficial reason. I haven't given up on skating completely but I'm hoping that losing weight and getting in shape on a bike will help if I want to focus on that again.

I also relate to this post someone wrote on tumblr:

slowly slowly dawning on me that part of the reason i find skateboarding photos/videos so endlessly compelling isn’t just watching people doing cool tricks and the little vicarious [enjoyment] i get from thinking about skating but also that there’s always a really cool interfacing with architecture going on, whether it’s the purpose-built features of a skatepark or the ways that street skating reclaims and repurposes ledges and surfaces… watching videos filmed in different cities and seeing how the geography and city planning affects the style people skate in… street skater psychogeography just v cool imo

I skated from a young age, till I was 17/18. I was never very good, but I loved it. Just surfing down the street or some smooth surfaces was fun in of itself. Even to this day, I still look down a street and look for lines you could skate.

I'm having a go at making this tiny Tudor house from a video on YouTube. The person who made the vid hasn't put any measurements though. So for the second picture I keep enlarging a screenshot and counting the squares on the green cutting mat; where there's a will there's a way haha. When I watch the full video I just keep thinking the house looks perfect at multiple points. It's beautiful work ❤

I love roller skating but haven't had the time to go. Plus, the closest roller rink is about two hours away. I miss bounce/strut skating and meeting tons of cool peeps at the skateway. I was so good at one point, but I'm probably pretty rusty by now. So many rinks are closing down now and seems like a thing of the past except in bigger cities.
My partner wants me to play guitar to her on monday (via Whatsapp as we both live in different countries). It will be one of the first times I've played guitar in front of anybody for years. I usually just play it on my own not even plugged in, because I'm scared the neighbours will hear me.

When I was much younger I was in a band, but I always used to get drunk and one time I was so drunk I played really badly and got sacked from the band :( Since then I've had terrible stage fright, even just in front of one or two people.

My only other hobby is cooking and I make mostly British and Chinese food. When I can afford to I'm going to make a big steak and ale pudding. I was handed down a big steaming pot from my parents and I've used it to make meat puddings and sweet ones too like Christmas pudding and syrup pudding.

Did you know that the main ingredient in sweet and sour sauce is pineapple and tomato ketchup!

I've been jogging about a half hour everyday and building up my endurance. I'm thinking about doing a 5k race sometime. I haven't done one since high school.

I've always had a passion for music... I've also always had social anxiety, so performances have always been a nightmare. Still, I managed to play a couple of shows as the drummer of a band, so courage mounteth with the occassion I suppose. It wasn't pleasant, but somehow it was fun and a wonderful experience. Having friends and family come out to support me was probably the reason why.

Nowadays, I mostly play piano by myself at home, and stick to air drumming when nobody is watching. I also make delicious hot sauces in my spare time.

PS5 games and horror movies are two of my favorite evening activities.

Probably more to say, but think that's enough for now.

Ended up getting a knee sprain back in November while riding around the neighborhood, forgot to stretch beforehand. I was afraid to try a lot of things as a kid and that's basically my first 'serious' injury, I feel like it's inevitable that I've lost interest despite trying to ride and skateboard a bit again this year.

Before my injury, my dad got these photos of me -

Practicing in front of the house helped navigating the skatepark quite a bit, and even if I wasn't anywhere close to doing barspins or tailwhips I feel I made some progress.

This is from earlier this month, when I got to ride at a skatepark for a few minutes -

My knee still isn't fully healed, I've been able to do bunnyhops but trying to ollie on a skateboard didn't end up well.

I've only occasionally watched videos of others riding since and can't help but feel whatever enjoyment I get out of them is most vicarious though - too distracted by the fact that I want to be able to do all that.
