Can anybody share any feedback on strategies they used to make significant changes with your SAD? I'm not talking about medication but rather the ability to change old negative thinking patterns. How did or how successful were you in doing this? How did you do it? Were there a lot of setbacks. Did it take longer or shorter than you thought to make progress?

Your life experience will influence you in your life as well.

Here is a quote I grabbed from my blog:

If you live in a rich lifestyle, you were born in a wealthy family where your parents love you and they will give you anything you ask for, what is going to happen if one day all of these luxury items and pampering are not there anymore? What happened to you in the past will become your life references. In the future, when something similar ever happen again, you will then search deep in your mind for the same references that you have experienced before and act exactly the same way as you were before.

References are all the experiences in your life that you stored in
your giant cabinet in your mind. And people act according to their
references.

With that means, if you want to get rid of your negative emotions,
you must first change your life references.

Hope this helps.
