I'm really slow too and I always thought it would limit me. Actually, art is the only way I've ever earned any money, so if your really passionate about it you should use it. Since your awesome at animals, you could draw people's pets for a fee. I did that by just letting my mom show samples of my work to friends and co-workers. I didn't even have to deal with anyone face to face. It's a great start in earning some cash and utilizing your talent. :)

Yeah, I have the same problem. Due dates SUCK! I hate the pressure. That's why I always used to tell people it could take a few months to complete their portrait. Then I wouldn't feel so much pressure to draw everyday. :fall

I was really cheap when I started selling. I would do this elaborate drawing and only charge like $30 bucks. Nowadays I would charge a lot more, but I was only trying to get my work out and make some spare change back then. My advice to you would be not to sell yourself too short like I did. :popcorn

You just have to find a balance between setting a price that your comfortable with, and also one that is consistant with your current level and customer base. In other words, set a price that is high enough to where you feel it's worth it (factor in your work-time; # of hours etc.), but not so high that your customers would not be likely to commision you for work. These guidelines change somewhat as your level of experience grows.

Pricing is one of the hardest things to do and it's really a personal decision. :popcorn

It really depends on how much time it takes you to do it, the size of the drawing, the medium used etc.. Also who your selling to. From what I've seen, I think you could go on to make good money for your drawings if your motivated. You always have to be willing to learn and continue to refine your techniques.

WOW.. I would actually put a copy of that Giraffe picture up on my wall.. I really really really liked it.. You know what, if possible you should think of a way to make prints of some of your work and sell it on EBAY. A lot of independant artists do that.. Just browse Ebay sometime and look.. your stuff is a HECK of a lot better than a lot of those "artists".
