I think it's a legitmate complaint. Med is on here saying that it's boring, but when people go into chat he is on skype, so that kind of defeats the purpose of this thread.

Oh, and I take back what I said earlier. It's only boring if the only people in chat are on skype or just idling, hehe.

All the cool, funny, and hip people are in chat. I have no place in there.
After about 3am (GMT-8) the cool funny hip people are asleep. You either get silence, or on occasion a nice little conversation with an Australian or European. Somehow people become cool/funny/hip/annoying when they group together, but when you get them alone they're just regular people.

Come on guys don't feel like that. I'm not cool hip or funny (annoying well maybe), but I hang in there quite a bit and I feel like I don't have much to add most of the time (don't ask me why I still go there). They are almost all nice people in there. Its just that when there are many people its hard to carry out a one on one conversation. Doesn't mean we can't enjoy each others online company. Its just a different atmostphere when there's lots of people.

Thats one of the biggest problems i have with society. Some people just act EXTREMELY fake when in a group.

Oh well, i just stick to the forums. And a bit of pms.

I never got on with instant messengers.

What do you mean "fake"? It's easier to joke around when there is a large group, it's what I do. It's kinda hard to have a serious conversation when there are like 15 people talking all at once. I really love having serious discussion, but only if it's with a few people (since it's very hard to do it with a large group), does that mean I'm a "fake"? People are complex, they are not either this or that, you are not an unchanging entity.

And guys, I know SAS chat can be intimidating, but everyone is very, very welcoming. In the beginning, I never said much and didn't have anything to say. I kept telling myself I can never go back but I did (since I don't have anything better to do) and found that people are actually really nice. Also, it's easier to have a conversation in the chatroom...

I think what he is saying is that the people turn into the group mentality mode so their personalities get amplified because they want to impress their friends in the group.
This is exactly what i mean. Alot of people i have known in real life have been normal 1-1, but in a group situation show off and get arrogant behaviour.

I'm not saying don't have fun, i'm just saying that alot of people go too far when it comes to socialising.

And to the user "nameless" I said SOME people are fake when in a group. SOME!

Does this mean i'm not an unchanging identity!? :roll
