Does aone think/know if someone can develop Avoidant Personality Disorder after enduring years of Social Anxiey Disorder. The decription on AvPD sounds very similar to SAD, but there's other stuff wth it. (like a concrete beleif you are inferior). Or is it totally different in a neuro way?
Opinions?
Edit: I don' know where else to put this, so I put it here

I don't know what the major differences are. They both sound similar to me. I have been diagnosed with SA but reading the description of AVPD I believe I have that as well. I do have the concrete belief that I'm inferior because it's true at least in regards to social skills. I don't see that belief as being unreasonable but is a fact that can be backed by evidence. I don't know. It sound like the same thing to me.

Don't get caught up in diagnostic labels. They mean little. SA and avPD - i think one is just a more extreme form of the other.
Yeah true i think. It's the spectrum thing, not just this or that but all shades of grey. Psychologists are always catagorizing things.:yes
