My friend is having an enormous party tonight (kegs, tent, the whole deal) so I decided to invite my roommate whom I have yet to meet yet. I was panicking all day because I am nervous to meet him. He most likely will not be coming to party now, because he was in the area but the party isn't for another hour and he doesn't wanna wait around. I am jumping for joy. This is social anxiety: A kid whom I will be living with for months to come causes shivers to shoot down my spine at the thought of meeting him. I'm such a loser.

Alright, so my dad called me an idiot and told me to invite him over if he was in the area and he could chill here until the party. So, reluctantly, I did it. He said he was halfway home already, then I apologized stating I hadn't thought of it earlier. He told me not to worry about it.

Now, the way my paranoid mind is, I feel like the kid hates my guts and thinks I'm some rude ******* for not inviting him over in the first place.

It seems like you are putting waaaaay too much stress on this first impression! From what you say, you already have friends who like you- I bet this guy will like you, too. And if by chance you don't like him, I'm sure you'll meet a ton of other people who you do like, and you can just room with someone else after the first semester.
