Well, I didn't like it at first.. But it actually will be quite useful, because you can use two of those at the same time. Would be useful for some games... Even first person shooters... You can use one controller to move your character and the other to aim and fire. If you read the article, you would also know there is a sensor on the controller... So you can control the movement of characters by just aiming the controller.

I am definitly buying a XBOX 360, but my other system will be a revolution :)

IT seems like it would tire out my arm. Swinging it around everywhich way. I'm all for new innovative contollers and whanot, but it just looks stupid.
I was thinking that too... I was hoping their "secret" controller would have been touch screen controller like their 'nintendo ds.' Just think, developers could program the controller anyway they want, so their would be no limits on how to control a character. But nintendo surprised me with their design, in both good and bad ways.

The revolution controller (in theory) seems amazing! it's like having an actual body part in a game. Can you imagine playing starwars and using the controller as a lightsaber in a real lightsaber battle? how about flicking the controller during a hockey game for a top-corner wristshot? The only problem I have with it is that I don't want to be waving my hand every which way. I hope there's a way to calibrate the movements to whatever style you want. Its looks are also not very masculine at all!

...but if it works like it's supposed to work, and has a real feel to it, I would probably start laughing at anyone who's still pushing buttons and mini joysticks to move around. If it works, both microsoft and Sony are going to look really conventional--and behind the times--when it comes to gaming...albeit, with strong mature titles.

Many say that the xbox 360 came out too soon. Both Sony--and now Nintendo--theoretically have an arm up on MS. Sony with its hardware and Nintendo with its controller. It kind of reminds me of the past in a way: Microsoft pretty much picked up Sega's pieces as that system died, and I remember Sega was always the first manufacturer to come out with a new system that was easily outdated by its competitors, over and over, to get ahead in the business. Although MS is waaay more capable than Sega, I wonder if they missed the boat like Sega did with their too-early launches of the 32x, Saturn, and Dreamcast many years ago.

Micronian, I think XBOX360 will be okay. First, Sony is going to release their console at least six months after the 360. 2nd, Microsofts hardware won't be that far behind Sony's. Sony can't radically change their technology within 6 months, it would cost them too much. Sony will be selling their system at a much higher loss, compared to Microsoft...

I think that it is because Microsoft owns all the technology to its box, and can produce it for cheaper... Compared to Sony, who only owns parts of the Playstation 3 technology.

Also, they are releasing Halo 3 around the same time as the PS3 launch... I think most people who owned a XBOX is going to own the 360 just to play Halo 3.

Most of the game forecasters, are saying that in the next console wars... Sony is going to end up on top again, but with a much narrower margin than before.. But who knows, you never know whats going to happen in the console biz.

man, how boring. i wrote a big rant but i think i'll just sum it up:

-the reviewers giving it praise are mostly skeptics and fanboy-haters
-the reviewers commented on the problems you guys mentioned
-the mouse is precise, but NOT intuitive - this is both
-there will still be normal controllers, they won't force you to use this
-microsoft's campaign consists of videos of annoying teenagers, customizeable faceplates and media capabilities - buy a computer already
-sony's campaign consists of lies - hiding the same old games behind fantastic videos that are actually not real-time

do we really need another football game whose only addition for the last how many years is that you can see the angry sneer on your player's face a little clearer? if i wanted to play more war-sim shooters, i'd use my pc. if i wanted to play another ff game, i'd stab myself in the throat. at least nintendo does something new with its franchises (wind waker's cell-shading and sailing, mario sunshine's water pack, double dash's co-op system, wario ware). while everyone else just keeps shoving in beefier processors and more ram, trying to add "bling bling" to their image, nintendo is actually sitting down, thinking and taking risks. nintendo is not the senile geezer of the business, in fact they are the most profitable. i'm very disturbed at how successful raw marketing is in america. sony and microsoft are "cool", nintendo is not cool, everyone hates nintendo. noone hates apple for trying new things.

anyhoo, i will admit that you will look like an idiot swinging that thing around, but as long as you're having fun who the hell cares? i want to swing the sword instead of pushing a button, man, how fun is that?

Yeah, good points. But sometimes, I get tired of sitting in front of my PC... Somedays, I'd rather relax on the sofa and play some games on my big screen :) And I don't think everyone hates nintendo, I don't... and I haven't had one of their systems since the super nintendo... It's just, their games tend to be more for the 12 and under crowd. If I am going to buy a new system, it has to have:

a: new technology... why buy a new system if you don't care about the technology improvement?

b. new innovations... Thats why I am getting a 360 and revolution. Microsoft didnt revolutionize a new controller, but they have made some steps with their 360.

Last two systems I owned: Dreamcast and Playstation 2... I didn't care much for the PS2... I loved the DC but since they stopped making games for it, I haven't played it for awhile. My friend ownes a 360 and its great! Nothing is funner than Halo2, 4 way split-screen.
