I haven't stepped foot in a movie theater in probably 10 years and never rent any. But I do enjoy the occasional movie if it's really really good.

Here are my favorites, just to give you an idea of what I like:

Shawshank Redemption
American Beauty
Blow

A Beautiful Mind - Mayby for older people, or people that have expericed psychosis.
Donnie Darko - Recent favourite, Schizophrenia, and would appeal to younger audience.
Fight Club - Great acting from Edward Norton, depicts depression and MPD.

It's not a movie, but Six Feet Under is an HBO series that's basically a 60 hour version of American Beauty. The series is created by the writer of it, Alan Ball, hence the similarities. If you found the characters in American Beauty interesting, the Fisher family will grow on you that much more.

I always enjoy The Edge & Phenomenon.
But I like movies & a lot of ones others dont. So...

Anthony Hopkins is the man though in my opinion.

If you like sci-fi you may like Dune . The version with Sting in it.
