Maybe extroverted people with sa can function better in society or use drugs/alcohol to cope vs seeking out treatment or support.
No, I can't say anything about drugs/alcohol as I've never used either and never will but I certainly can't function well in society and a lot of introverts on here have much better lives than me. Therapy didn't work for me though.

sociallyunacceptable, it seems to me like SA really does change things, though. A big part of the difference between introversion and extraversion is a matter of energy. If you're introverted, you tend to feel drained by social interaction, whereas extraverts gain energy. That being the case, it seems inevitable that people with SA will be more "drained" since they're feeling so much anxiety, and thus also be less extraverted as a personality trait.
I am "drained" in a way with social interaction because of my SA but also am "drained" by being alone for too long. I can't get happy either way. Needless to say I am very depressed.

I'm an ISFP also :) At least, I'm pretty sure it matches my personality the closest, especially since one of my favourite hobbies is art.

"ISFPs are artistic, creative, loyal and sensitive. They have a keen appreciation for beauty because of their highly developed senses. They are easy to get along with and live in the "here and now". ISFPs are adaptable, caring, independent and like to contribute to the well-being of others. They are typically hard to get to know."

(Did not take this test though, since I've read up on myers briggs personality typing before.)

According to the webpage, only 1% of women are INTP, so I guess I'm unique.
Are there any other women on this page who are INTP?

i've taken this in the past... it was ISFJ "The Defender"....

ISFJs are traditional, loyal, quiet and kind. They are very sensitive to other people's needs because they are very observant. They have rich inner thoughts and emotions. They value stability and cultural norms. They are very adept at giving attention to detail.

"ISFJs have a rich inner world that is not usually obvious to observers. They constantly take in information about people and situations that is personally important to them, and store it away. This tremendous store of information is usually startlingly accurate, because the ISFJ has an exceptional memory about things that are important to their value systems. It would not be uncommon for the ISFJ to remember a particular facial expression or conversation in precise detail years after..."

"The primary desire of the Protector SJ is to be of service to others, but here "service" means not so much furnishing others with the necessities of life, as guarding others against life's pitfalls and perils, that is, seeing to their safety and security."

yeah... pretty much sounds like me.... but my parents aren't too thrilled that that's me... they say its not normal... that i shouldn't care about the close people around me so much... sigh, but thats just who i am :)
