Re-joining after a while out - anyone still around from about 10 years ago?

Hello everyone and I hope your day is going decently. I thought I would check back in on here.

I first joined the forum back in 2013 or 2014 (albeit with a different account as that got locked somehow), and spent a lot of time on it in those days. In fact, it was my only source of a social life, and a great place to seek support and meet new people.

I think that nowadays, there are lots more support platforms for social anxiety. I also think that society's perception of social anxiety has changed - not only is there more awareness of it, but more and more people are able to seek support. I'd also hope that there is less of a stigma of it, as with anything mental health related.

I felt a bit nostalgic and decided to start using the forum a little, in addition to myself feeling a need to seek more support online due to my current living situation and some health issues which can leave me a little isolated. I also have some issues and addicitions which I am trying to keep well away from, so engaging in a community like this is one way to keep me on the right track.

So, whether you are relatively new on here, or a site oldie like me, how is your day going, and what is your current SA situation?

Welcome back. I'm coming up on 10 years here in a few months. There's a few of us from that time still around. What was your old username? Probably people around that remember you if you posted much.

I joined July 2013, tbh I dont recall you.

I think from the early days or 10 years ago, the forums aren't as active now as they were then but a better quality of people use SAS today.
Me
Class of 2013 here, still have SA, not sure if that will ever change however I've made some decent improvements, though apparently not enough to get me off this site. Anyway hope you're doing well.
Welcome back. Which support platforms for anxiety are you referencing? I miss this forum being active and meeting people here and want to find somewhere else to go.
It's going quite well, and I think the biggest reason for that is that I manage to take more control of my own life. You know, doing what you want, in your own life?

Hello,
I'm an old timer who checks in occasionally. Glad to hear from you.
me. I just came back a few months ago. Joined in 2009. Back then I was mostly looking to vent. I still have social anxiety issues but now I'm at a place where I want friendship in addition to support.

Likewise, 09 for me too, & I still come on here to vent but I’m far more sporadic in my use now, lol.

Years ago there was a very active blog section so I interacted more with users then, & at one point there was an active sex discussion group that was very open, honest, & informative, then it degenerated & was moved to a sub-forum & basically died. Still, this forum is my home for this, just used to it & many of the regulars that remain I guess
