Random Thoughts and Observations You Had Today

What Are You Thinking About Right Now? and Random Thought of The Day were recently merged because of how similar they were. I don’t think many people saw a difference between them, but some people might think of one as being for your current thought and one as being for a random thought you had that day.

I’m making this to replace Random Thought of The Day in a way that makes it more different to What Are You Thinking About Right Now? and it is in Just For Fun.

If you thought something weird/random like “I wonder how many drops of water it takes to fill a bath“ or “Why don’t rolls of wrapping paper have a little metal cutter like rolls of foil?” you can post it here. :)

That's interesting mate - I didn't know you were in the book trade. Yes, Abebooks is fantastic - I used to sell on there years ago. I need to get my act together and start loading my books on the database but for some reason I seem to have a mental block about it - I find it hard to get started. I'm relatively okay with placing ads on Ebay so I should be okay eventually.

A lot of book collectors use it and my sales would increase - my friend has been doing very well and he hardly even has any books on there. Only a hundred or two.

I wasn't 😁 I worked in a separate shop, but we helped out the family bookshop next door. It was interesting dealing with the books some of the time. They mostly sold in store back then, but we helped them with getting some rarer stuff online.
I'd guess they do much more internet sales now, then back then.

I often procrastinate over getting things done for ages and then once I've done it, I wonder what the hell I was making such a fuss about.🙄

I hope you can get your head in the right space soon and get the stuff done you're needing to. 👍

Thanks mate - I'll get started eventually. My wife sometimes says she could help with it but that would drive me (and definitely her) crazy. So I need to get my *** into gear. :)

I read that they stopped making coloured tissues because people thought the dyes could be bad for health and the environment, but they could use natural colouring from fruit or beetroot. I always liked pink tissues.

My sister gave me a few options of where to eat for my birthday. Either eating subs at the lake or Mexican food. I like subs and would like to go to the lake but I could also go to a Mexican restaurant again. She said she kind of wanted to try something new, though. So idk.

Nature: I got you some more snow!
Me: oh, okay! Yea, just set it over there. I'll uh get to it later thanks.
Nature: no problem. It was discounted. I knew you liked snow so I got you some extra. Super proud grin 😀
Me: ohhh nature.

There's definitely something lacking in me. (and I probably need to find a new shrink)

Well, I thought I had to pay my lightbill today but I must've already paid it a couple of weeks ago and forgot. It said I didn't owe anything right now. So, that was a nice surprise. Lol

As a matter of fact, I do remember paying that amount on the lightbill not that long ago.

It was always easy for me to keep up with whether or not I'd paid mine or not because I usually only had like $30 left to my name once it was paid. "Oh, OK. I have $30 to live on for the next two weeks? I guess I paid my light bill already".

I know first world problem but I do not like the feeling of being full.

I had a burger from a local restaurant with some fries as a cheat meal and I never ate at this establishment before. Their portions were large and I was stuffed at the end but the feeling was greatly uncomfortable.

I realize that I'm perfectly content with eating smaller meals, and snacks if needed, throughout the day than eating large meals for the mere sake of gluttony.

Lol That's an easy way to tell. 💀

Its annoying how the interfaces of more and more websites and apps have been changing to now be designed towards - trying to force viewers to only initially see the content they want them to see. For the most part it's always the keywords of "trending" and "popular" of content and they will only show those. But if viewers want to see everything and have the freedom to just browse everything, they have to extensively dig through layers and layers of things that are kind of hidden like they're treasure troves.

My guess is because this is base on what they found are browsing patterns of the younger generation. Where they are more fond of being told right off the bat what is relevant and trending. Probably due to the general decrease in attention span and patience in how we browse content nowadays.

I was watching some animal videos which I 💕 love to watch on YouTube and I came to the conclusion that I want these animals for 🐕 pets:

Koala (they are technically not bears!)
Giant Panda
A de-skunked skunk (no smell)
Kitten
Baby elephant
A sloth
Marmoset (tiny cute monkey)
And a puppy!
It's nice to get some appreciation at work. Especially being told I'm the only one that cleans this or that all the way but where's my gift card? 🤣
