Rub magnesium oil on your face. It will relax the muscles in your face thus giving a neutral relaxed facial expression. This is a trick I use.
Thank you, both. The magnesium oils is interesting to me. I have been soaking in Epsom salts for the magnesium, and it does help me feel more relaxed. I also have been practicing in a mirror. It seems to be working for me. I've had more positive interactions with people lately.I have the same problem!!
When I was in school, the other students wouldn't talk to me because I looked mean.
I even heard this girl say, 'no I don't want to ask her, she looks like she's gonna murder me'
I guess just practice smiling in the mirror, know what it feels like and try to replicate that when you can.
Do the same for frowning too so you know when your looking unapproachable.
When I used to make the effort to go out and socialise this is what I would always used to hear too. I couldn't just sit there contented and taking everything in, nooooooo that simply wasn't good enough - I also had to constantly look like I was having a blast. It was just too exhausting, so I eventually stopped bothering to go to anything."why do you look so mad" "Be happy and smile" I hear this a lot from extroverted douch*ags.
