depedning on the quality of the therapy the cost will reflect what you get out of the service. I see a psychiatrist who is old fashioned and does both pharmacology and therapy but charges $135 for 30 minutes and has a lot of experience dealing with certain problems. without psychiatry their would be probably be sick people in jails or out in the streets uncessarily suffering.
