I can relate to your feelings, although slightly different. I had a really invasive procedure about a month ago, I felt the same things as you - feeling violated, losing dignitity etc. I found someone (a medical aquaintance) who I could ask what to expect, and that helped my anxiety. Reminding myself they were professionals who did this all the time helped, as did really focusing on my breathing during the actual procedure. The fear was the worst thing, while it wasn't a lovely experience, it wasn't horrific like I'd imagined it would be. Everyone was very considerate of my dignity, and the fact that it was very much routine to them (even though it wasn't for me) really helped.
