there are a lot of videos of young people who clam to be Polyglots,


so I'm woundering if they are real polyglots or they just learned few words and act like they can really know the language?!

It's possible, some languages are almost mutually intelligable so when you get one down it's easier (to understand anyway) my nan and her dad (and probably her mum) spoke/speak a bunch of different european languages. It's easier if you learn them when you're younger though too of course.

I can't prove that every claimed polygot you are thinking of is "real," but I can agree with Persephone that it is possible to learn many languages, especially if they are similar and you learn them at a younger age. Having the social connection to many native speakers and being able to practice conversation with them is invaluable, too, in addition to being able to afford lessons (although many polygots self study, too).

I am extremely envious of polygots.
