Could someone please recommend me a good free video editor that is as close to Adobe Premiere as possible and has layers? The layer bit's kind of important because I want to add videos on top of videos among other things.

Not Blender because the preview window isn't working properly for me, but I guess if I have to I'll try harder to troubleshoot that. Also not Jahshaka because there's a missing .dll file and I gave up with that.

I miss Premiere ;_; my brother has it too, because his friend gave him a cracked copy a while back (along with the whole Adobe suite) but he doesn't have any of those files to give to me now and won't let me use his PC to edit videos cause I'll keep coming back all the time to do that (which is true haha.)

I'm too lazy to check up this forum's rules regarding piracy so... Let me just say that you may find what you need in a page named after a bay frequented by men with a taste for eye patches and shoulder parrots.

And that you may find useful a certain software:

http://www.qbittorrent.org/

Which is completely legal as long as you use it to download non copyrighted content. And I'm sure nobody would ever do that.

Thanks, I just wanted to stick to legit methods for now. But that is against the forum rules to mention too I think :p

I've gotten the software I downloaded before working now though, so hopefully it can do what I want, for now.

I really don't like subscription services (which Adobe's stuff now is) it just bothers me on an almost ocd level to know that it's not finished and I'm paying continuously. Not that I could have afforded what it costed before either right now but you know.

If you're enrolled in school, Autodesk has a buttload of programs they let you use. One might be video editing. I'm using 3DS Max right now to learn some 3D modeling crap. Another good perk of being in college. It almost seems like it would be worth taking one class per semester forever just to get access to student benefits.

Thanks guys I will check out Lightworks s2panda. If not I'll probably just use the one I mentioned before now I've got it working, but thanks.

Blender I can't use really because the video preview is broken on my pc while editing, it's not that I don't want to though :p I'm not a student any more so can't get stuff that way unfortunately.

I was using Windows Movie maker before but it is very limited lol.

I'm sure its against their policy, but I've recommended sites for people to watch free movies many times before.

However I don't think there is anything that says you can't recommend sites where you can search easily for legit freeware software torrents, like at http://thepiratebay.se :D
