... how exactly to go about creating links on this board. Like this: Link so that, instead of the web address appearing in the message, a short link appears instead. Yes, the system has done what I wanted it to do in this message, but that doesn't mean that I know how it works! For the dummy "link" above, I typed in the URL tags, typed in the following web address: http://..., typed Link, then typed in the URL again.

As far as I can tell, you can't use copy and paste for this. Pasting the web address into the message, then adding the URL tags and name of the link doesn't work. Creating the whole thing in a Word file, then pasting it into the message doesn't work either.

Does the whole thing (url tag, lengthy web address, name of link, url tag) seriously have to be typed into the message letter by letter every time you want to create a short link?

Simply do what you did before but instead of the http thing just copy and past the web address, like I can link to this thread buy coping the web address (http://www.socialanxietysupport.com/forum/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=998968) and then putting it into the code you wrote:

No, I can't see how it is written. I just see the web address underlined and the word "Link" underlined.

If I:

• click on the codes icon
• change the codes to URL
• add the equals sign, the second square bracket and the word "Link" between the two brackets
• paste in the web address for this thread
