A ray of dusty light
Breaks through
My dank and grimy prison
And my
Eyes
So used to the smothering shades
And the downy gloom
Are
Blinded
By the effortless intensity
Of a spirit.

Through the ghostly Night
Who blankets all echoes
With velvet gloves
I can hear
A whisper.
And my heart
Kept quiet for so long
Is
Bewildered
By the fresh clarity
Of a soul.

My limbs
Cramped from crouching in fear
Amongst the ethereal shadows
Tremble with
Hope.
Through the dark,
Through the invisible walls,
I can feel a sweet presence
Shaking every fiber of my existence
And my soul bursts out in
Tremulous song.

A solitary ray of dusty light
Has overwhelmed Disillusionment
Whose spell no longer
Entraps me.
One
Solitary
Ray of
Dusty
LIGHT.

As I was reading this, I said wow. It reminded me of a poem I've written 12 years ago. Ok, it's not really the same of course, but the images are very close. Very evocative.

So many new poems here since I've read this forum! And I don't even have much time to read them all properly. :(
