Few people have had a longer musical career than Ozzy. Most other rock stars quickly fade away or are long since dead from drugs & booze, but nothing seems to kill Ozzy, now at the ripe old age of 56.

The first six Sabbath albums are a big part of the foundation of metal, and he did some good solo stuff too (early 80s). But I don't know what he's doing now, other than saying f-words on TV...

Crazy, but that’s how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe it’s not to late
To learn how to love
And forget how to hate

Mental wounds not healing
Life’s a bitter shame
I’m going off the rails on a crazy train

I’ve listened to preachers
I’ve listened to fools
I’ve watched all the dropouts
Who make their own rules
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you have the role

Mental wounds still screaming
Driving me insane
I’m going off the rails on a crazy train

I know that things are going wrong for me
You gotta listen to my words
Yeh-h

Heirs of a cold war
That’s what we’ve become
Inheriting troubles I’m mentally numb
Crazy, I just cannot bear
I’m living with something that just isn’t fair

Mental wounds not healing
Who and what’s to blame
I’m going off the rails on a crazy train

It is amazing to me that I can't understand a word he says when he is just talking, but I can understand him fine when he is singing. I like many of Ozzy's songs, as well as Black Sabbath's stuff. I think my favorite Ozzy song is "Road To Nowhere"...I can relate to the lyrics and the guitar work on that song is outstanding.

Yeah, it's strange how when he talks he speaks with a slurred Brittish accent and stammers a lot, yet he sings quite clearly and the accent disappears.

I love Ozzy. I love his singing and I loved him when he had his own reality show. I think he is a very funny guy. I respect him because he came from nothing and made something out of himself. I know his wife Sharon's business sense had alot to do with it to.

I like Ozzy. I'm not a big fan of all the stupid reality tv crap his family has done (although it was amusing in the beginning). Ozzy isn't one of my favorite musicians, but I do enjoy listening to him from time to time. I think it's pretty cool to still be rockin' in your mid 50s. I also think he is a pretty interesting man, considering his crazy past.

Has anyone heard the man speak lately? His speech is almost completely understandable now. I'd say 100% except I have a hard time with British accents, lol. It turned out that all his stammering was the result of a rare disorder that went undiagnosed. Amazingly, it wasn't due to him frying his brain with drugs and alcohol for years. Now that he is getting the proper treatment, he sounds like a normal human being again. I saw him in an interview a few weeks ago and couldn't believe this was the same man that I couldn't understand at all before!

FINISHED WITH MY WOMAN 'CAUSE SHE COULDN'T HELP ME WITH MY MIND

PEOPLE THINK I'M INSANE BECAUSE I AM FROWNING ALL THE TIME
ALL DAY LONG I THINK OF THINGS BUT NOTHING SEEMS TO SATISFY
THINK I'LL LOSE MY MIND IF I DON'T FIND SOMETHING TO PACIFY

CAN YOU HELP ME OCCUPY MY BRAIN?
OH YEAH

I NEED SOMEONE TO SHOW ME THE THINGS IN LIFE THAT I CAN'T FIND
I CAN'T SEE THE THINGS THAT MAKE TRUE HAPPINESS, I MUST BE BLIND

MAKE A JOKE AND I WILL SIGH AND YOU WILL LAUGH AND I WILL CRY
HAPPINESS I CANNOT FEEL AND LOVE TO ME IS SO UNREAL

AND SO AS YOU HEAR THESE WORDS TELLING YOU NOW OF MY STATE
I TELL YOU TO ENJOY LIFE I WISH I COULD BUT IT'S TOO LATE

Paranoid, one of his earliest songs from 35 years ago & one of his best, pretty well describes many on on SAS, including me, who can't find true happiness. Sounds more like depression than paranoia though.

He's good and has made a mark on heavy metal music. Of the Sabbath songs, I especially like "War Pigs," a classic that I like to play on my guitar.
Sabbath's guitarist, Tony Iommi, did a lot for heavy metal music by helping to establish the heavy metal riff.

I wonder if George W. is familiar with "War Pigs". Seems like it could apply to the war he started in Iraq:

War Pigs

GENERALS GATHERED IN THEIR MASSES
JUST LIKE WITCHES AT BLACK MASSES
EVIL MINDS THAT PLOT DESTRUCTION
SORCERERS OF DEATH'S CONSTRUCTION
IN THE FIELDS THE BODIES BURNING
AS THE WAR MACHINE KEEPS TURNING
DEATH AND HATRED TO MANKIND
POISONING THEIR BRAINWASHED MINDS, OH LORD YEAH!

POLITICIANS HIDE THEMSELVES AWAY
THEY ONLY STARTED THE WAR
WHY SHOULD THEY GO OUT TO FIGHT?
THEY LEAVE THAT ROLE TO THE POOR

TIME WILL TELL ON THEIR POWER MINDS
MAKING WAR JUST FOR FUN
TREATING PEOPLE JUST LIKE PAWNS IN CHESS
WAIT 'TILL THEIR JUDGEMENT DAY COMES, YEAH!

NOW IN DARKNESS, WORLD STOPS TURNING
ASHES WHERE THE BODIES BURNING
NO MORE WAR PIGS OF THE POWER
HAND OF GOD HAS STRUCK THE HOUR
DAY OF JUDGEMENT, GOD IS CALLING
ON THEIR KNEES, THE WAR PIGS CRAWLING
BEGGING MERCY FOR THEIR SINS
SATAN, LAUGHING, SPREADS HIS WINGS
ALL RIGHT NOW!
