IM doesn't work for me either. I didnt use MSN for the last year because I get scared I won't have anything to say. In person it's easier for me, i guess it's due to the fact that I can actually see the person and that there are other things going on around us so it makes it easier to keep the conversation going. My anxiety just goes to the roof just by thinking of possible awkward silences that might occur.:|

I'm usually fine with forums. Occasionally I still worry that I'll come off as stupid or weird, but it's not a big deal as I can take as much time as I want coming up with a response to a post. One on one conversations, however, make me a little more anxious. Talking directly to a person about myself seems to do that.

As far as IM or MSN? I can only assume it would spike my anxiety, as I've never used either of those things.
