When I know I have somewhere to be, I sometimes find myself not going to sleep the night before in order to avoid the low feelings I have when I first wake up in the morning.

Does anyone else do this?

I've not wanted to go to sleep for those reasons and will stay up later than usual, but I eventually force myself to sleep because I won't be able to function the next day without it

I did that a few times last month, and have before that. I did some research and apparently when you don't sleep through a night, your dopamine levels spike, then crash. Ultimately didn't feel wonderful after doing it twice.. I can't justify doing it any more. I do get some joy from keeping a tighter sleep schedule, a different kind of joy that makes getting through the day more feasible
