I found out this is a medical term for involuntary muscle twitches. There are several types that are considered medical conditions, and I seem to have action myoclonus and stimulus-triggered myoclonus. Action myoclonus happens when you move or even have an intention to move, while stimulus-triggered myoclonus is when you are startled by something(for me, sudden, loud noises or when my body touches an object that I didn't see). The most effective medications for myoclonus are clonazepam and propranolol, which I'd been on for social anxiety with no positive results. Xanax and Ativan reduce my myocloni but they're still interrupting with my academic and social life.

Has anyone been diagnosed with this? If so, what are you doing to reduce it?
