What are some ways besides medication? Breathing exercises help me a bit, but what other things do you guys suggest?

mentally prepare yourself before you go and do something public, give yourself a rally. Take care of yourself, by taking a shower, brushing teeth, doing hair. That way theres nothing negative that SA can get you with.

Diet. Exercise. Get plenty of sleep. Hobbies. Good friends and conversation. Pets. (Pets are a HUGE stress reliever). Try to ignore your nerves and just do what you want to anyway.
