Hi...
I'm taking 1 Xanax every other day and a non-benzo on the other days, so as to not build up a tolerance to Xanax too quickly.
Are there any effective meds for SA that the body won't build a tolerance to??
I'm starting to feel like I need a higher dosage of Xanax already, but of course I don't want to become too dependant upon it. (also, I just started paxil so I'm hoping that will help).
Thanks!

Give the paxil approx 4-6 weeks to get into your system.

I've been on Lexapro(SSRI) for major depression for past 5 years on same dosage and have not build a tolerance to this. SSRI's don't really seem to build tolerance.

Unfortunately there aren't many ways (none that I know of atleast), to resist tolerance to certain anti-anxiety meds, such as benzos.

You can always try using supplements such as phenibut to help with anxiety(check out supplement reviews within the "treatment reviews" forum) or other supplements and maybe alternate them, just a suggestion.

Other than that, probably best way to avoid tolerance is to a stick to a prn dose of a benzo, only take as needed, and not daily.
