For the last 4 months I've been taking Xanax and Inderal as a combination for anxiety. I've been going to the gym regularly about 3x a week, and playing hockey once a week. I have however noticed weight gain, specially my stomach which seems to get bigger.

I understand both Xanax and Inderal have weight gain as a side effect, what I was interested in knowing is which one is more likely to make me gain weight between the 2? I can stop Inderal if it means it will help me lose weight, but I can't stop Xanax. Is it possible for me to lose weight on Xanax?

I'm planning on eating a healthy diet and orienting my workouts focused on cardio mostly.

Benzos like Xanax are considered weight-neutral. Beta blockers like Inderal can cause (some) weight gain, I think the combined alpha- / beta blocker Carvedilol doesn't have that problem.
