I am 21. People say I'm a pretty good looking guy (no johnny depp, but getting by). I have never dated. So far, in my life, I've had only one thing close to a date, which is where I watched "Boogie Nights" with a girl who I had the balls to ask to do something with on facebook after basically not talking to her for eight years. Needless to say I'm a virgin (never dated, so for the most part that's obvious). My 24 year-old brother's had a few girlfriends and is currently in a relationship with a doctor and is often on my case about how he thinks it would be very important for me to date. That it's something I really NEED to do. I've tried many options online: plentyoffish, okcupid, adultfriendfinder, craigslist, and have not had success with any of them. Social anxiety of course doesn't help, because I don't like hanging out with large groups of people so I don't meet a lot of girls. Add to that that I can't imagine liking any relationship long term and the idea of prostitutes sounds very appealing, and add to that the fact that I have no money now for prostitutes and probably never would have enough to make it a habit without it being a terrible cash drain (once a week at $300 would add up!) and I am very confused when I think about relationships and what my goals for future relationships are. Advice? Questions?

you are not alone. i have never dated anyone either. I got one offer by this total loser. I have joined some of those websites. I have met some new people. dont know yet if it will work with any of them though. My advice is no prostitutes, your first time is already a downer dont make it worse with someone who gets around. not something you wanna remember, am i right? haha. im not gonna give you that stupid saying everyone tells me. "dont go looking for love, it will find you." its total bs. Just hang in there. Im trying to not let my anxiety run my life anymore.. things are looking up. :] Good luck!!

I'm pretty much in the same boat. The only "relationship" I had was with a girl I knew from high school the year I was abroad (she was in the US).

I'm kinda conflicted between wanting to get married and have a family, yet being bitter about girls and doubting it'll happen.

Yeah, thank you for your posts! I guess I will just have to what and see how things pan out. Maybe I'll stay active on this board, and some years down the road, I'll be able to inform SA people how my "relationship issue" has turned out.
