That's a neat little poem with a great twist at the ending. It's just at the right length - it leaves you guessing as to what happens after the guy discovers that it was the sadness he was attracted to all along.
Coincidentally, that's the sort of thing I've always feared would happen to me one day. I'm usually attracted to girls who seem shy and soft-spoken, but then I'm always afraid that when I get to know them they won't be so shy around me. So this poem certainly struck a nerve.
