Hello Folks,

I have a question for all of you, I am a wine lover, I really enjoy 2 glasses of wine per day with my supper. However since I started my meds I stopped since my pharmacist and doctor recommends not to consume alcohol.

I have been taking Librium 25 mg one per day along with Cipralex 10 mg per day for the last 6 months.

So my question to you, is it safe too consume 2 glasses of wine with evening meal and the occasional social drink?

Thanks to all who take the time to respond.

Cipralex = Lexapro to those of us in the US.

And yes, it's safe to drink while on SSRIs & benzos. That warning exists to protect drug companies from being sued by morons who decide to wash down their pills with a bottle of vodka and then blame the pills for their car getting wrapped around a tree, as if the astronomical amount of booze isn't what really did it.
