I'm getting ready to look for a real job. I grad from college like 2 years ago. I spent a lot of time since then traveling, and about half a year ago went back to the lame job I've always had as an office clerk. Its really embarrassing, to the point that I keep putting off making my resume. There's just not a whole lot to say about me. I really want a better job though, so I just gotta toughen up and eat it.

Just embellish your resume. You don't even need to lie. Just make it sound better than what it really is. Think of the janitor who might call himself a "Sanitation engineer" or whatever the cliche for that is.

Doesn't even have to be a ton of info. IN fact, less is more.

Here are just a few ideas to get your motivated for your own resume -

Duty VS what you might call it -
Dealing with customers - Customer satisfaction specialist
Stacking boxes on pallets - Product preparation/organization
Oil change guy - Automotive maintenance specialist
Cleaning or fixing junk at the shop - Shop maintenance
Order picker - Order fulfillment technician.
Opening boxes with a knife and throwing them on shelf for the pickers - Product replenishment.

Basically whatever it is, even flipping burgers, just make it sound really important like you were an important team member in ensuring the smooth daily operations for the company's continued success.

SEE THAT! See how I worded that?

Did one place lay you off? Why did you get laid off?
Was it because they didn't have much work and had to cut people loose?
NO!
It was cause the company was suffering setbacks and did not have to workload to keep everyone busy as they were able to in the past.

These are just ideas to get you motivated on how you are going to polish YOUR resume and story. :clap

A meal may or may not be that good but if it is presented as tasty looking, most people are not going to complain.
